I'm on a roll here with my sketchbook, lead pencil and eraser. After
getting up early this morning and taking a shower, I let the morning sun
refresh me while drinking a cup of coffee. I took a photo of this. Then I sat down to draw this moment for Illustration Friday's topic 'refresh'. Nice.
Speaking of drawing and sketching: The 36th World Wide Sketchcrawl is coming up on July 14th! Together with Yvonne, I'm organizing a Sketchcrawl in Amsterdam. You can read about it here or find a Sketchcrawl near you and even organize one yourself here! If you'd like to join me in Amsterdam you can RSVP here on my FB page.
I hope to see you then!

Perfect illustration for the theme and you have captured the feeling of the sun on your face so well!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!!!! It's refresh(ing), no doubt! :D
ReplyDeleteNice drawing, love the light.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like it too, although now it bothers me that I didn't draw any detailed hair, so now it looks kind of balding.
ReplyDeleteLovely, peaceful expression. Also looks like she might be thinking of something secret and wonderful. You could still do a bit with the hair, if you wanted?
ReplyDeleteNo you don't look like you're balding!! Come on with the self-critque! ;) You look like your hair is wet from the shower - that's what I thought when I saw it, and when I read you just did indeed take a shower, it all made sense :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention, friend - my blog is an oasis of peace at the moment (hah!) but I will write a post as soon as... I have told all my friends in NL who I think might join (they're all maybes...), but who knows, maybe someone reads my blog quietly? I didn't mean it like that in my email, you know? :) But thank you :)
I like it...it's a great sketch and looks just like you...I didn't think of balding when I saw it...a veil maybe...but it gives an interesting appeal.
ReplyDeleteOH she looks so refreshed...and satisfied at being such a wonderful drawing :)
ReplyDeleteHeel mooi, je "ziet" de warmte van de zon.
ReplyDeleteLove this! You look so serene!
